Minnesota leaders held a press conference demanding transparency and accountability after ICE killed Renee Nicole Good. Officials condemned the federal government for excluding the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) from the investigation and for publicly blaming the victim before facts were established.
Leaders said Minnesota law requires independent review of officer-involved shootings and warned that blocking the BCA undermines public trust.
Citing video evidence and eyewitnesses, speakers rejected claims that the killing was self-defense and called for full cooperation with a BCA investigation to ensure justice for Renee Good and accountability for those responsible.
Along with calls for a credible investigation, Ward 9 Council Member Jason Chavez said, “I am here on behalf of my entire community, echoing the calls to arrest, to prosecute, and to fire this ICE agent who murdered Renee Nicole Good and to hold those accountable complicit in this crime.”
