An ICE agent has been charged in the January shooting of a Minneapolis man during a chaotic enforcement operation that prosecutors say endangered multiple people inside a home and was later followed by false claims about what occurred.

Minneapolis officials on Monday announced the launch of the Firearm Assault Shoot Team (FAST), a new multi-agency task force dedicated to investigating non-fatal shootings with the same urgency and resources as homicides. The FAST team currently includes Minneapolis officers alongside personnel from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office and Metro Transit Police.

Advocates called the remarks cruel and deeply disrespectful, arguing they trivialized Floyd’s final moments and the trauma still felt across Minneapolis nearly six years after his murder.
