The uncle of Darnella Frazier, the young woman that recorded the George Floyd’s murder, was killed in a police chase. Leneal Frazier died Tuesday morning, after a Minneapolis squad car pursuing an armed robbery suspect ran into him. The suspect got away, and Frazier was pronounced dead. The police had been driving around 6th Avenue North and Lowry Ave when they spotted the criminal at after midnight, according to the police.
Leneal Frazier, 40, was caught in the crash at the intersection of 41st Ave and North Lyndale Ave. According to his daughter, he was on his way to his girlfriend’s home at the time. Frazier’s car was in critical condition, though the police officer suffered non-life threatening injuries. According to Minneapolis Police Department their policy requires lights and sirens to be activated during pursuits. According to a neighbor, she says she did not hear sirens or see lights leading up to the crash. Minneapolis Police Spokesman, John Elder, says this incident is under investigation.
